Kanzius Machine: A Cancer Cure?

The Kanzius Machine: A Cancer Cure?

April 13, 2008(CBS) What if we told you that a guy with no background in science or medicine-not even a college degree-has come up with what may be one of the most promising breakthroughs in cancer research in years?

Well it's true, and if you think it sounds improbable, consider this: he did it with his wife's pie pans and hot dogs.

His name is John Kanzius, and he's a former businessman and radio technician who built a radio wave machine that has cancer researchers so enthusiastic about its potential they're pouring money and effort into testing it out.

Here's the important part: if clinical trials pan out-and there's still a long way to go-the Kanzius machine will zap cancer cells all through your body without the need for drugs or surgery and without side effects. None at all. At least that's the idea.

The last thing John Kanzius thought he'd ever do was try to cure cancer. A former radio and television executive from Pennsylvania, he came to Florida to enjoy his retirement.

"I have no business being in the cancer business. It’s not something that a layman like me should be in, it should be left to doctors and research people," he told correspondent Lesley Stahl.

"But sometimes it takes an outsider," Stahl remarked.

"Sometimes it just - maybe you get lucky," Kanzius replied.

It was the worst kind of luck that gave Kanzius the idea to use radio waves to kill cancer cells: six years ago, he was diagnosed with terminal leukemia and since then has undergone 36 rounds of toxic chemotherapy. But it wasn't his own condition that motivated him, it was looking into the hollow eyes of sick children on the cancer ward at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

"I saw the smiles of youth and saw their spirits were broken. And you could see that they were sort of asking, 'Why can't they do something for me?'" Kanzius told Stahl.

"So they started to haunt you. The children," Stahl asked.
"Their faces. I still remember them holding on their Teddy bears and so forth," he replied. "And shortly after that I started my own chemotherapy, my third round of chemotherapy."

Kanzius told Stahl the chemotherapy made him very sick and that he couldn't sleep at night. "And I said, 'There’s gotta be a better way to treat cancer.'"

It was during one of those sleepless nights that the light bulb went off. When he was young, Kanzius was one of those kids who built radios from scratch, so he knew the hidden power of radio waves. Sick from chemo, he got out of bed, went to the kitchen, and started to build a radio wave machine.

"Started looking in the cupboard and I saw pie pans and I said, 'These are perfect. I can modify these,'" he recalled.

His wife Marianne woke up that night to a lot of banging and clamoring. "I was concerned truthfully that he had lost it," she told Stahl.

"She felt sorry for me," Kanzius added.

"I did," Marianne Kanzius acknowledged. "And I had mentioned to him, 'Honey, the doctors can't-you know, find an answer to cancer. How can you think that you can?'"

That's what 60 Minutes wanted to know, so Stahl went to his garage laboratory to find out.

Here's how it works: one box sends radio waves over to the other, creating enough energy to activate gas in a fluorescent light. Kanzius put his hand in the field to demonstrate that radio waves are harmless to humans.

"So right from the beginning you're trying to show that radio waves could activate gas and not harm the human-anything else," Stahl remarked. "'Cause you're looking for some kind of a treatment with no side effects, that's what's in your head."

"No side effects," Kanzius replied.

But how could he focus the radio waves to destroy cancer cells?

"That was the next $64,000 question," Kanzius said.

The answer would cost much more than that. Kanzius spent about $200,000 just to have a more advanced version of his machine built. He knew that metal heats up when it's exposed to high-powered radio waves. So what if a tumor was injected with some kind of metal, and zapped with a focused beam of radio waves? Would the metal heat up and kill the cancer cells, but leave the area around them unharmed? He did his first test with hot dogs.

"I'm going to inject it with some copper sulfate," Kanzius explained, demonstrating the machine. "And I’m going to take the probe right at the injection site."

Kanzius placed the hot dog in his radio wave machine, and Stahl watched to see if the temperature would rise in that one area where the metal solution was and nowhere else.

"And when I saw it start to go up I said, 'Eureka, I've done it,'" Kanzius remembered. "And I said, 'God, I gotta shut this off and see whether it's still cold down below.' So I shut it off, took my probe, went down here where it wasn’t injected. And the temperature dropped back down. And I said, 'God, maybe I got something here.'"

Kanzius thought he had found a way attack cancer cells without the collateral damage caused by chemotherapy and radiation. Today, his invention is in the laboratories of two major research centers - the University of Pittsburgh and M.D. Anderson, where Dr. Steven Curley, a liver cancer surgeon, is testing it.

"This technology may allow us to treat just about any kind of cancer you can imagine," Dr. Curley told Stahl. "I've gotta tell you, in 20 years of research this is the most exciting thing that I’ve encountered."

That's because Kanzius impressed Curley with another remarkable idea: to combine the radio waves from his device with something cutting edge - space age nanoparticles made of metal or carbon. They are so small that thousands of them can fit in a single cancer cell. Because they’re metallic, Kanzius was hoping his radio waves would them heat up and kill the cancer.

"If these nanoparticles work then we truly have something huge here," Kanzius told Stahl.

Enter Rick Smalley, another cancer patient at M.D. Anderson and the man who won the Nobel Prize for discovering nanoparticles made from carbon. As luck would have it, Dr. Curley was called in one day to examine Smalley. Before leaving, he asked him for some of his nanoparticles.

"I proceeded to tell him what I wanted to do and that I thought they would heat. He looked at me with sort of a studied long look and didn’t say anything. And then he looked at me and said, 'It won’t work,'" Curley remembered. "And just laughed and said, 'Well, look, I'll give you some. But don't be too disappointed.'"

So Dr. Curley brought a vial of those precious nanoparticles to John Kanzius.

And on an August day in 2005, Curley and Kanzius put them to the test. Would the metallic nanoparticles heat up enough to kill cancer?

"So we take the nanoparticles, we put 'em in the radio field. And in about 15 seconds, they’re boiling and heating and Steve Curley couldn't contain himself. He called Rick Smalley and he said, 'Rick, you’re not going to believe this. He just blew the smithereens out of your nanoparticles,'" Kanzius recalled.

Smalley's response? "The only thing that I got out of him after this pause was, “Holy s…,'" Curley recalled.

Not long after that day, Smalley died of lymphoma. Once a skeptic, he had become one of Kanzius' biggest supporters.

"He didn’t expect it, but he embraced it to his death bed when he told Dr. Curley this will change medicine forever. Don't stop, no matter what you do," Kanzius told Stahl.

And they haven't stopped. They’ve already shown that the Kanzius machine can heat nanoparticles and cook cancer to death in animals. Dr. Curley with rabbits, and in Pittsburgh, Dr. David Geller demonstrated to 60 Minutes how he used nanoparticles, made from gold, to kill liver cancer cells grown in rats.

"Now what we’re going to do is inject the nanoparticles," Dr. Geller explained. "Directly into the tumor."

In the study the rats, anesthetized to keep them still, were exposed to the Kanzius radio waves. Dr. Geller later examined their tumors under a microscope.

"What you can see is that cells are starting to fall apart. You see white spaces in between them. The body of the cell is shrinking, the cells are starting to die," Geller pointed out.

"And can you tell from this whether the area surrounding the tumor had any destruction?" Stahl asked.

"Grossly inspecting the animal, we did not see not see any damage to the surrounding tissue," Geller said.

So far, the Kanzius method has only been applied to solid, localized tumors in animals. The ultimate goal is to treat cancer that has metastasized or spread to other parts of the body. Those undetectable rogue cells are what most often kill people with cancer and the trick is finding them.

"If we can't target the microscopic cells this is not going to be a cure," Curley said.

That’s why Curley is trying to use special molecules that are programmed to target cancer cells and attach nanoparticles to them.

He showed Stahl an animation of how he hopes the targeting will work in people one day, with a simple injection of gold nanoparticles into the bloodstream.

"What we’re seeing here is an example of a gold nanoparticle in this case with an antibody on it, so the antibody would be the targeting molecule," Curley explained. "You can see it is tiny compared to a normal red blood cell just imagine all of these billions of these gold nanoparticles circulating through the body and then once they get into the blood vessels going to the tumor, these nanoparticles would go through and bind on the surface of the cell."

"The cancer cell. It wouldn't bind on a normal cell," Stahl observed.

"That's right, they would bind only to the cancer cell. Now here’s the nanoparticles in the cell, here comes John's radio frequency treatment. The cells get hot and they’re destroyed," Curley said.

"Gosh, it does look like one of those science fiction movies," Stahl remarked.

"Right now it is a little science fiction," Curley agreed. "We’re not quite to the real time yet, but it’s got a lot of promise."

Even if all goes well in the lab, it'll be at least another four years before human trials can start. But John Kanzius says he's afraid he doesn't have that much time. So to help speed up the research, he's been raising millions of dollars and getting press coverage about his invention.

"Now I can't count the number of times the journalistic community, has done stories on a cancer cure," Stahl said. "I did one in 1973. …How many times have we seen these things work in the Petri dish, work with animals. And then you get them into humans and they don’t work."

"Dozens," Curley replied.

But if this one does work, it most likely won't be developed in time to help the man who invented it. John Kanzius may have the option of a bone marrow transplant that could buy him more time, but after six years of chemo it would be another grueling ordeal.

"Did you ever say, 'I’m not going to do this anymore. I’m not going to put myself through it,'?" Stahl asked.

"Yes. I said that-only about a year and a half ago," Kanzius replied. "I changed my mind because I think with all the research that’s going on with the institutions, that maybe, I'd like to be around for the first patient to get treated and just have a smile."

"Oh my God," Stahl said.

"And then I don't care anymore," Kanzius replied.

Let's hope that his invention isn't stifled - hospitals can migrate this in place of their useless chemo/radiation treatments.

But seriously, folks...

Well..I did it.

I am now officially a tax protester.

What do I mean?

I am, for stuff that does not benefit me, a procrastinator. I'll wait until the last picosecond, and then attempt the impossible.

For the most part, it works out. I work 35 hours a week, but I waste at least 15 hours that selfsame week traveling back and forth to my occupation. so...that's at least 50 hours out of the 168 hours within a week's time. Then, of course, there's sleep.

Whack off at least another 28 hours...unless I've been imbibing.

So...the rest of that time is precious to me, and I wouldn't wish to waste it staring at some dopey-ass HD images on TV.

"Ooh...look at how realistic the astroturf is!"

You know...I REALLY DON'T GIVE A RED-ASS BABOON'S ASS ABOUT TV.

When I was 12, I got a TV RADIO for my birthday.

The picture only turns your brain, which is a marvelous device that no computer has come close to emulating, into a fucking TOASTER.

Now, don't get me wrong...it's not like I've NEVER watched TV...but I just think the importance some people have put into watching TV has gone beyond the pale.

And then, of course, there's the blatant propaganda prevalent on TV.

Here's my most recent example.

First, you will have to be a denizen of New York City and a rider of the transit system. The MTA has taken to placing linked ads on either side of the trains. The ad that I've noticed recently is a recruitment poster of sorts for Child Protective Services.

Are you BOLD enough?

Are you SMART enough?

Are you TOUGH enough?

Are you COOL enough?

And on and on...and, of course, that in and of itself should not be anything weird...but along with this, there is the curious timing of a show I've added to my repetoire...WITHOUT A TRACE, starring Anthony LaPaglia as Jack Malone, and with a rather decent cast (I LOVE Poppy Montgomery's lip gloss...her lips are to die for!).

So...I was watching the second episode to air last night...and it involved...

...CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES.

So...what's the big deal, you say? Well...the usual premise of the show is that someone in the beginning of the show disappears, and the agents (FBI) uncover every thread to determine the fate of the missing individual.

Usually, the individual is found to be deceased, ans their secret lives uncovered. But not this episode - the CPS agent is shown to be a overly-moral individual, who cares WAAAY too much about doing his job, and is sorta like Jesus beset by the Romans (by the way, to my bud JS...the Jews of old did NOT kill Jesus...it's actually a no-brainer!); his colleagues and supervisors are lacking in conviction, and unwilling to understand the enormous pressure the occupation brings to bear.

Well...I know it's a shitty job. But, it's not the ONLY shitty job out there.

At any rate...my point here is that now there seems to be a push to promote the good that CPS performs. You know...like removing kids from homes because of ill-informed determinations, all so that the child can suffer at the hands of some hard-bitten foster child with NO HOPE of adoption or placement.

If I do watch TV, it's only the few shows I do watch, or it's one of the news propaganda channels. My favorite right now is CNN (the CIA News Network). I giggle at these wholly compromised anchors blithely selling lies to the general public as informed wisdom.

Once you whores have sold yourselves to the point that you're unnecessary...what do you think will happen?

What happens when a child is bored with a toy?

They discard them.

They break them.

They ANNIHILATE them.

You whores think you've some sort of "in" with the so-called "elite"? You better do some Kegel exercises with your sphincters and keep 'em airtight...because the first time you're not really tight like they're used to your tuchis being...YOU'RE DONE.

Man, oh, Manischewitz...that was an evil rant...but it needed to be said.

Back to my tax protesting stance...so, I saved it for tonight. I was filling out the forms...when I found the 1913 tax form on WRH's letters page.

Dammit...WE THE PEOPLE WERE SCREWED BY SCUMBAGS AND LAWYERS.

1913 was the beginning of the end of the United States of America.

The corporations and lawyers saddled WE THE PEOPLE with THEIR GODDAMN tax burden.

There is NO tax on WAGES.

There IS a tax on INCOME.

WAGES are what one uses to support their families; build and maintain a place to live love and prosper. WAGES are traded for blood, sweat, tears and YOUR TIME.

INCOME is what is referred to as gains not from labor. Lottery winnings are considered INCOME. Corporation profits are considered INCOME.

Are you getting it yet?

Within some of my earlier postings, I refer to a Thirteenth Amendment that NO ONE has heard of.

Check the date of the current Thirteenth Amendment...then we'll talk some more...for now, enjoy Jesse "The MIND" Ventura 0wn1ng Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes. Hannity is a bitch-ass, and Colmes is a DINO (Democrat In Name Only).

Enjoy - I'm going to go pickle the liver...

Update!

Friend,

In 1996, Congress - in a middle-of-the-night backroom deal - reversed nearly eighty years of tax law. They stripped whistleblowers (along with all other victims of civil rights violations) of their right to be "made whole" after suffering emotional distress or loss of reputation. Attorneys for the National Whistleblower Center, in Murphy v. IRS , fought the constitutionality of this law all the way to the Supreme Court. This week, the Supreme Court refused to hear the case, so now -- 12 years later -- we must turn back to Congress and ask them to pass the Civil Rights Tax Relief Act of 2007.

Take Action for Victims! Click Here to Email your Representatives!

This 1996 law allows the IRS to tax victims who are being compensated for mental, emotional, and/or reputational damages. This is especially troublesome considering that the IRS is not allowed to tax compensation for physical injury. Congress' mindset in this instance was mean-spirited, cruel, and defied years of medical research, which shows unequivocally that mental distress is every bit as harmful as physical injury. Ever since this amendment was passed, according to the IRS, if a whistleblower suffers a heart attack (which some have) as a result of the stress from a wrongful discharge - their court awarded compensation is taxable because the IRS considers it to be an emotional, not a physical injury.

President Clinton realized the nefarious nature of the amendment when he signed the 1996 bill (a minimum wage increase), saying:

"Such damages are paid to compensate for injury, whether physical or not, and are designed to make victims whole, not to enrich them. These damages should not be considered a source of taxable income."

Take Action for Victims! Click Here to Email your Representatives!

We are asking for your help to see that Congress passes the Civil Rights Tax Relief Act of 2007 this term! The law, which was introduced in both the House (HR.1540) and Senate (S.1689) last year, would in essence repeal the 1996 amendment that destroyed the ability of whistleblowers to be made "whole."

Email Your Congressional Representatives Today!

Sincerely,

FOOD FIGHT:
Monarch Press Release Raises Eyebrows
Dan Ferber*

ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS--The 1-day conference, held here on 2 November, was not yet over, and researchers were still heatedly debating whether corn that had been genetically modified to make Bt, a protein toxic to insects, harms monarch butterflies. Yet a headline that day in the hometown newspaper, the Chicago Tribune, seemed to give the meeting's conclusion: "Monarch Butterfly So Far Not Imperiled." Similar stories appeared in the Los Angeles Times and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. How could the newspapers have known the upshot of the conference before the researchers themselves did?

In fact, they didn't. The stories illustrate how eager interest groups are to spin even preliminary and debated results in the continuing war of words over the risks and benefits of genetically modified (GM) crops.

The conference, which was sponsored by an industry group called the Agricultural Biotechnology Stewardship Working Group (ABSWG) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), was the outgrowth of research reported last May showing that monarchs fed Bt pollen in the lab often died. In the wake of the uproar the report caused, the ABSWG and the USDA funded new studies to see whether the butterflies are at risk in the field. The conference brought the researchers together so they could present their early results (see main text).

But the day before the conference began, the ABSWG had held a conference call between reporters and a small group of researchers whose results mostly seemed to show that the butterfly was safe. The ABSWG also issued a press release on the morning of the conference--before most of the researchers had presented their results--stating that the conference would "dispel doubts raised last spring about the safety of the monarch population."

The ABSWG's actions did not sit well with many meeting participants, including some whose results supported the industry claims. The press release "took me totally by surprise. I thought it was premature," says one such researcher, entomologist Galen Dively of the University of Maryland, College Park. And insect ecologist Orley Taylor of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, director of the conservation group Monarch Watch, describes what the ABSWG did as a "manipulation." Taylor, who remains to be convinced that Bt pollen is safe for monarchs, adds, "This steals the possibility of having a fair and deliberate discussion ... by dictating what the interpretation of the meeting should be before it was held."

ABSWG spokesperson Val Giddings responds: "I think that's nonsense. ... This was about as open and untrammeled a meeting as you could have hoped for." Entomologist Richard Hellmich of Iowa State University in Ames agrees: "The intention of the meeting was to talk about science, and that really didn't disrupt the discussion."

Giddings also defends the accuracy of the press release, saying that the majority of the researchers concluded that the potential harm to the monarch was minimal. "It was virtually, although not completely, a consensus view," Giddings says. But at the close of the conference, most researchers said more work was needed to show the true effect of Bt corn on the butterfly. "It was inappropriate to conclude there's no impact on the monarch butterfly," Taylor says. "That was not a fair conclusion of any of the commentary we heard."

Taxes...ARE THEY VOLUNTARY?

First, listen to the...well...I hesitate to refer to it as a "discourse" between Jan Helfeld and Senator Harry Reid...then read the postings...unfortunately, I found the page too late to be able to add comments...but hey - that's why I started this page, natch!

Here's a clip of Papa Dish's The Joe Hynes Blues, featuring the late-but-great, the Hon. Judge John Phillips:

Some background on the Phillips/O'Hara/Roper/Hynes debacle:

Okay...a lot of the posters are missing the point here: TAXES ARE NOT VOLUNTARY...AND MORE TO THE POINT, THE TAX BURDEN WAS ORIGINALLY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CORPORATIONS.

Read below.

This is why I'm making a big stink about the original Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, "TITLES OF NOBILITY" AND "HONOR":

The following is from the WWWebFactory:

"[02] - MEANING of the 13th Amendment

The "missing" 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows:

"If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them." [Emphasis added.}

At the first reading, the meaning of this 13th Amendment (also called the "title of nobility" Amendment) seems obscure, unimportant. The references to "nobility", "honour", "emperor", "king", and "prince" lead us to dismiss this amendment as a petty post-revolution act of spite directed against the British monarchy. But in our modern world of Lady Di and Prince Charles, anti-royalist sentiments seem so archaic and quaint, that the Amendment can be ignored.

Not so.

Consider some evidence of its historical significance: First, "titles of nobility" were prohibited in both Article VI of the Articles of Confederation (1777) and in Article I, Sect. 9 of the Constitution of the United States (1778); Second, although already prohibited by the Constitution, an additional "title of nobility" amendment was proposed in 1789, again in 1810, and according to Dodge, finally ratified in 1819. Clearly, the founding fathers saw such a serious threat in "titles of nobility" and "honors" that anyone receiving them would forfeit their citizenship. Since the government prohibited "titles of nobility" several times over four decades, and went through the amending process (even though "titles of nobility" were already prohibited by the Constitution), it's obvious that the Amendment carried much more significance for our founding fathers than is readily apparent today."

So...I read up on this...you may believe, as mentioned above, that there no longer exists the need to restrict American citizens from "titles of nobility"...well, YOU COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG. We have a class of citizens who should not have been able to work in our government...LAWYERS!!! Lawyers are admitted to the BAR, and can be referred to henceforth as Esquire...does that not reflect a Title of Nobility?!?

The simple truth here is that lawyers consipred with "our government at the time" to remove the original 13th Amendment and replace it with the oddly-worded "No Mo' Slaves" farce, which actually relegates EVERYONE who agrees to being a Citizen of the USA to being subjects of CONGRESS!!! Please perform a Google search (or any bloody search engine you enjoy) for Michael Badnarik - his Constitutional Class is something any red-blooded, THINKING American can't do without...though I will say that it will cause a lot of consternation for those who believe what they've been taught in school.

So...I implore you to take ACTION.

Or be forever DAMNED.

Okay...I really didn't wish to end that diatribe on such a downer; so, here's Phil Donahue schooling Bill "Falafel" O'Reilly!

The Escape Of Israeli Terrorist Dominik Suter...How Competent Is Our FBI? (repost)

In the Christopher Ketcham piece published by Counterpunch about Israel's Urban Moving Company Spies, we learned that US law enforcement personnel apparently fear Zionists in our own country. We were told that the investigation of Israel's spies can be a real career wrecker. How much confidence then should we have in the FBI's investigation of the Urban Moving Company Mossad Spies? Could the FBI's fear of Zionists also explain how Dominick Suter, an Israeli Spy complicit in the attacks on 9/11, found it so easy to escape our country in the days following the attacks. Suter was the owner of Urban Moving Company in New York? Five of his employees were arrested driving a white Chevrolet Van with Urban's logo by the Bergen County Police Police on 9/11. When arrested the police said that the Israelis had maps indicating a foreknowledge of the attacks. Suter's employees had been arrested because a New Jersey resident saw three of them in Liberty Park celebrating the attacks. The license plate number of the van was reported to the police. These celebrants and two additional employees were picked up later that day. The spies we were told had videotaped the celebration. With regard to Suter, Ketcham in his article told us this:

Meanwhile, two days after the men were picked up, the owner of Urban Moving Systems, Dominik Suter, a 31- year-old Israeli national, abandoned his business and fled the United States for Israel. Suter's departure was abrupt, leaving behind coffee cups, sandwiches, cell phones and computers strewn on office tables and thousands of dollars of goods in storage. Suter was later placed on the same FBI suspect list as 9/11 lead hijacker Mohammed Atta and other hijackers and suspected al-Qaeda sympathizers, suggesting that U.S. authorities felt Suter may have known something about the attacks.

I of course am not a law enforcement expert, but I would have thought that after their initial interview with Suter someone with the FBI might have been keeping an eye on him. You know like a tail or some kind of law enforcement investigation stuff like that. This was after all the most heinous attack on our country since Pearl Harbor. Shouldn't the FBI have figured that the owner of Urban, an Israeli, whose employees (also Israelis) picked up that day with reported foreknowledge of the attack, was also a serious suspect?

Ah, but when the FBI returned to the scene of the crime, the leader of Mossad's terrorist operation had vanished. Abandoned his business. Sounds like an innocent man to me. He would later turn up on a list of terrorists wanted by our Government. But unlike you and I in days after 9/11, Suter had no problem catching a plane back to the terrorist State of his employment, Israel.

Later a retired attorney by the name of Gerald Shea, for no other reason than he loved his country, took it upon himself to map the locations of the Mossad spies and the hijackers, pointing out that the Mossad spies had been living and working on top of the 9/11 hijackers for one year before the attacks. Although this information was submitted to the 9/11 commission it was apparently never considered. Damn, if only someone with our FBI had put that all that together. We might have a real idea who was behind 9/11. Maybe we could even punish them.

Now can you imagine if those Urban Moving Company employees had been Russians, Chinese or Italian how this investigation would have been handled differently. Maybe our news media would actually have reported the facts concerning these matters in some meaningful way.

Israel has of course declared its innocence regarding any complicity in the attacks, just as they denied there invovement in the Jonathon Pollard matter. Our own Government has parroted Israeli claims that it was innocent. But notwithstanding these claims the video tapes that Suter's employees took of themselves along with the maps indicating their foreknowledge of the attacks are classified by our Government. So don't bother making a freedom of information request.

The five Mossad spies working for Suter returned to the terrorist state a few months after 9/11. Ketcham told us that the Bush Administration negotiated the release of these men with Israel. How do you negotiate with a country complicit in the murder of 3,000 Americans?

Can you imagine how popular Israel would be in America if our news media actually reported stuff like this? Is objective reporting regarding Israel possible some day?

This was taken from Liberal White Boy's blog...just take a look at the first comment, and you can see that the scumbags are already at the fore, ready to defend to the death their superiority to all else.

This reminds me of a line from a page I've promoted recently: "To muse means to think; to be amused means not to think..."...which is exactly what the consumption of the various mind-dulling drugs advocated by this little piece of human garbage will do to anyone:

"LOL! There were no Israeli spies or Israelis of any kind "complicit in the attacks on 9/11".

It was Arab Muslims murdering infidels of all races, colors, and creeds.

Don't forget to take your Clozaril, Loxitane, Zyprexa, Seroquel,or whatever you need to be taking
."

Sure...walk around, not curious about anything, amused by EVERYTHING. Does that really sound like a fruitful existence? Or are We The People finally accepting the role of the Useless Eaters?

Well, I for one, refuse that nomenclature - I am my own man, and I do fine without the presence of the idiot box, and without pharmaceuticals that leaves one without the ability to REASON.

THAT is the ONLY explanation for people being dulled into believing the "official" story of the occurrences of September 11, 2001. Or...everyone else in the US has stores of Budweiser and all of the hog maws they can stand, and to HELL with anyone else!

Let's see:

An ex-CIA asset also happens to be the leader of a terrorist organization which first idea for a name is the highly-original "The Base"; who then decide that the name just doesn't denote enough terror, so they go back to the drawing board, where they come up with the truly terrifying "The Toilet". Oh...did I forget to mention that the leader is also bedridden and on a dialysis machine?

This same bedridden spook was able to:

Obscure the cameras at Logan Airport, so that there isn't any evidence of Arabs boarding the four doomed flights;

Produce boxcutters that don't set off metal detectors;

So totally impress the wife of Ted Olson, Barbara, aboard Flight 93, that she is able to make an impossible phone call from her cell phone;

So completely confuse one of the doomed passengers on the selfsame flight, he calls his mom and gives HIS FULL NAME AS IDENIFICATION;

Penetrate the NERVE CENTER OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'S DEFENSE...with a commercial jetliner...though, to be fair, he did receive assistance from Vice pResident Richard "Skeletor" Cheney, according to Norman Mineta's testimony;

Completely disregard the established law of physics to cause THREE STEEL-CONSTRUCTED BUILDINGS TO COLLAPSE INTO THEIR OWN FOOTPRINTS...from two airline impacts...I can go on and on, but the general idea is this:

IT'S ALL COMPLETE AND UTTER HORSESHITE.

But...they do constitute a large number of the scumbags who have set out to destabilize the U.S.A. - the dual-citizenship being the crux of their power. AIPAC should be registered as a FOREIGN LOBBY, considering the length and breath of the "Art Student" Spy scandal; Ariel Weinmann, Ben-Ami Kadish, Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman - but most of all - Lewis "Scooter" Libby. I wasn't aware that even a president could pardon someone who committed TREASON against the U.S.A. - fucking scumbags!

Now, some would like to take me to task about not crossing the line into Anti-Semitism...hahaha! Good one. When have you heard me say anything against a TRUE SEMITE?!?

If you don't like BMWs - are you Anti-German?

If you can't stand sushi - are you Anti-Japanese?

If you won't eat watermelon - are you Anti-Negro? (had to throw that in...)

If you absolutely can't stand fried rice - are you Anti-Chinese?

If you won't walk your dog past that Korean family, because the last time your pooch strolled by, that frickin' Korean had a bib on with a dog's head on a platter embroidered on it - are you Anti-Korean? Yeah, maybe...c'mon!

If you always root for John Wayne in the movies - are you Anti-Amerind?

If you spit on tacos - are you Anti-Mexican?

If you get cranky-ass every time you hear a J-Lo song - are you Anti-Puerto-Rican?

If you've never ordered a screwdriver - are you Anti-Russian?

So...I am vehemently against stealing other people's land - I wouldn't want someone to break into my apartment, and because the person's in my apartment, and I have the key...I CAN'T RECLAIM IT, BECAUSE POSSESSION IS 9/10ths OF THE LAW? I'm an Anti-Semite because I KNOW that their appropriation of the land was fraudulent? The Golan Heights was claimed against conventions of war? Olive trees being uprooted and stolen, leaving farmers to starve and DIE?

I CAN'T CRITICIZE THOSE ACTIONS, BECAUSE...IT'S SIMPLY ANTI-SEMITIC?

FUCKING BULLSHIT.

I'm done...bring on the booze.

Update: The queen of the Scumbags is hanging out in Florida.

A Tragi-Comic Cavalcade of Chicanery

A Tragi-Comic Cavalcade of Chicanery
Reflections on 'the daily panorama of private and communal folly'
by Justin Raimondo

I have to laugh – otherwise, I'll never stop crying. In perusing the headlines this morning , trying to decide which fresh disaster to focus on, I'm reminded of what H. L. Mencken had to say about America in the third volume of his Prejudices:

"Here, more than anywhere else I know of or have heard of, the daily panorama of human existence, of private and communal folly—the unending procession of governmental extortions and chicaneries, of commercial brigandages and throat-slittings, of theological buffooneries, of aesthetic ribaldries, of legal swindles and harlotries, of miscellaneous rogueries, villainies, imbecilities, grotesqueries and extravagances—is so inordinately gross and preposterous, so perfectly brought up to the highest conceivable amperage, so steadily enriched with an almost fabulous daring and originality, that only the man who was born with a petrified diaphragm can fail to laugh himself to sleep every night, and to awake every morning with all the eager, unflagging expectation of a Sunday-school superintendent touring the Paris peep-shows."

Speaking of "governmental extortions and chicaneries," the Center for Responsive Politics has calculated that our congressional solons, collectively, have invested some $196 million in the military-industrial complex, i.e. in companies doing significant business with the Defense Department.

Conflict of interest, anyone?

This actually goes way beyond being a mere conflict of interest: it is more of a titanic collision. .Yet we don't usually hear much about it, even when the talk turns to mention of the military industrial complex.. This is, perhaps, why the original phrase, as first written by Dwight Eisenhower's speechwriters, was military-industrial-congressional complex. Ike edited it down to military-industrial for fear of offending Congress.

Yes, it took a Republican to warn us of the impending danger, although he waited until his farewell address to do it. Taking this partisan theme a bit further, it seems the "antiwar" Democrats are in deeper than the Republicans. As one news report puts it:

"The study found that more Republicans than Democrats hold stock in defense companies, but that the Democrats who are invested had significantly more money at stake. In 2006, for example, Democrats held at least $3.7 million in military-related investments, compared to Republican investments of $577,500."

If you wondered why the Democrats keep voting to fund a war they ostensibly oppose – well, now you know at least part of the reason.

The biggest congressional war profiteers are Joe Lieberman (no surprise there!), John Kerry (he was against it before he looked at his bank balance), and House Republican whip Roy Blunt (no surprise there, either). According to the study, "forty-seven current members of Congress (or 9 percent of all members of the House and Senate) were invested in 2006 in companies that are primarily in the defense sector, for a total investment of between $4.2 million and $8 million. The average share price of these corporations today is nearly twice what it was in 2004.."

Pre-Order this Book

Yes, the Republicans are raking in the cash, but at least we know where they stand, because they don't make any bones about it. On the other hand, the Democrats are even more heavily invested in the "defense" sector: they're raking in more cash, per politico, including in the form of campaign contributions, as well as votes from grateful defense workers who get to keep their jobs while others are laid off. When Bush comes to Congress, hand outstretched, the Dems make a pro forma attempt to attach "conditions," the President threatens a veto, they cave – and why shouldn't they? "Antiwar" Senator John Kerry – with $38,209,020 in defense-related investments – is laughing all the way to the bank.

This should be illegal. Instead, it is routine. Just another indication that we've slipped into a Bizarro World alternate universe, where laws and morals are inverted and the sacred is regularly profaned. Members of Congress are not even required to report their specific holdings: instead, we are informed, they must merely indicate "the general range of their holdings." So we don't know who owns how much of what. Which means members of Congress are no doubt enriching themselves and their friends, at taxpayers' expense, while the rest of us face foreclosure and the worst economic climate since the last Great Depression.

If you're Bear-Stearns, you're home-free. If you're you, or me – forget it, pal. Just shut up, bend over, and kiss your ass goodbye.

Yes, the worst rise to the top – at home and abroad – in times such as these: evil times, to be sure. Take the case of Leonid Rozhetskin, former chief executive of Russia's Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest producer of nickel, dubbed an international man of mystery by the Independent. He was always a bit of an enigma – and much more so now that he's disappeared.

Like many of his fellow émigrés, the 41-year-old Rozhetskin made a dubious fortune in post-Communist Russia, was indicted for fraud, and fled to London with his ill-gotten gains, where real estate prices were driven up to unheard of levels. Flashy, a jet-setter, and lately an aspiring movie producer, the Independent describes him as follows:

"Mr. Rozhetskin was a Russian. Or an American. Or both. He was in the law, or mining, or venture capital, or mobile phones, or all of them (his investments also include the free London business paper City AM). He was murdered, or kidnapped, or went into hiding. He lived – or lives – in Los Angeles, or London, or Moscow, or Riga. Or in a £40,000 semi-detached bungalow in East Ayrshire, at an address where it was reported last week that the name of Leonid Rozhetskin appeared on the electoral register."

Rozhetskin was last seen in Jumala, Latvia, where he owns a mansion. Two men left his domicile in the early morning of March 16, and were taken by taxi to XXL, a club of a certain sort in nearby Riga. The next morning, his house was in disarray, there was blood all over the place, and Senor Rozhetskin was nowhere to be seen.

As if by magic, overnight, Rozhetskin, the shady character, has quickly morphed into Rozhetskin the "Putin critic" – which apparently now means any common criminal indicted in a Russian court. The Russia-haters in the British media had a field day, with the Daily Mail taking the lead: "My son was killed by Kremlin agents says mother of missing oligarch."

Even oligarchs have mothers, and they cry real tears – and yet there is some question as to whether her beloved son is really dead or feigning his demise. As the Latvian police officer in charge of the investigation put it: "We are working on three possibilities: Mr Rozhetskin was killed, he has been abducted or it is all theatre." Perhaps the cop's peevish tone can be attributed to annoyance at Rozhetskin's fake Latvian passport, or just maybe there's more to it than that. Given the rather suspect series of events preceding Rozhetskin's disappearance – only on the second police visit to his house was anything untoward discovered – and that Flying Dutchman in the skies over Europe, something about the disappearance of this "Putin critic" seems just a bit odd, to say the least.

More – or less – than foul play seems to be a work here, because, you see, Rozhetskin's private jet departed from Riga hours after he disappeared. Originally bound for London, the flight plan was changed at the last minute. Reports of the plane's appearance throughout Europe are popping up, like sightings of a ghost ship, manned with a skeleton crew.

The key to the mystery man's "disappearance" is in the movements of his Challenger 604 jet: the Daily Mailreports "it has zigzagged around the world in the fortnight since the tycoon vanished." From Riga to Vienna, on to Geneva, and from there all the way to Newfoundland, then back to Geneva. The jet was last seen taking off from Stavanger, Norway, where two men with coats draped over their heads boarded, headed for points unknown …. a comic moment, capturing the absurdity of the charade, caught by an intrepid Daily Mail photographer. The same paper runs stories with headlines like "KGB plot fears as London oligarch vanishes and traces of blood are found in his mansion." A good deal of these stories are illustrated with photos of Rozhetskin's wife, a comely blonde model.

Interestingly, even after the discovery of the blood, the overturned furniture, and Rozhetskin's extended absence, the Telegraphreports: "However the US embassy in Latvia have indicated that they believe Mr. Rozhetskin, who emigrated to America as a teenage boy, was alive." The first news report in the English-speaking media, a Guardian story, reported the same belief.

That isn't stopping the faux-intelligence "specialists over at Stratfor from listing Rozhetskin on a roll call of the KGB's recent victims, including Anna Politkovskaya and Alexander Litvinenko. The far reaches of the neoconosphere proclaim: "Putin's Critics Used to Drop Dead – Now They Vanish."

Oh, the melodrama! Just what Mencken meant by "inordinately gross and preposterous, so perfectly brought up to the highest conceivable amperage."

Recording and commenting on "the daily panorama of human existence, of private and communal folly," as Mencken put it, is journalism, but these days it seems more like the stuff of novels – bad novels, to be sure. The sort where the villains are a bit too villainous, and there are no heroes, only shades of evil, gray to pitch black.

NOTES IN THE MARGIN

The new editor of Reason magazine, "warblogger" Matt Welch, continues his sustained assault on Ron Paul and the mainstream of the libertarian movement. Not content with having lost a lot of subscribers on account of his obsessive grudge, Welch's editorial – the first under his name in the print edition – adds fresh smears to his previous calumnies. He also extends his aim to include the late Murray Rothbard and his followers. I make mincemeat out of him here.

The implication is clear - our "representatives" are doing NOTHING of the sort - they are abetting and aiding in the destruction of the United States of America as we know it.

MARTIN LUTHER KING - THE FATAL SHOT CAME FROM A DIFFERENT DIRECTION

This image was sent to me by my bud, Travis Kelly! In his own words,:"And you can get that image and others on T-shirts, mousepads and other stuff at my CafePress site (cheap!)":

CafePress:
Cartoons on T-Shirts, Posters, Calendars, Mugs and more
http://www.cafepress.com/traviskelly

In my opinion, Travis is underselling his merchandise! Let's go to it, folks! Show some love!

Now, just a few short words from me before I get to the topic of my posting. Everyone knows about the Mountaintop speech; we all know that he wasn't faithful to Coretta; and we all know that he was shot on the balcony of the Lorraine Hotel.

But did you know that:

James Earl Ray was a patsy for the real murderers, simply because the shot was IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE?

The Director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover, was a hypocritical cross-dressing, self-hating queer (and something else that he kept hidden from America...read on) who loathed MLK, Jr., possibly because King was granted the one accolade he would NEVER be able to obtain; the Nobel Peace Prize? Though, now that Albert "Global Warming? Oh...I just meant my newly-fattened pockets!" Gore has been awarded such for his fraudulent promotion of a phenomenon that HAS NO BASIS IN REALITY, the award's prestige has been cheapened in my eyes.

The Memphis police department, on that day, removed ALL BLACK OFFICERS from patrol, reassigning them to tours and duties that would take them far away from the scene of the crime?

Well, a lot of that information is included below.

Now, I'm sure that some of you who may come across this page might be scratching their craniums, "What the hey - I thought this was a 9/11 conspiracy page! Why do I have to read about Martin Luther King, Jr.? I'm not even Black, or even remotely related to anyone who would care? In fact, I'm the Grand Dragon of the KKK! I just wanna read about dumb space lasers melting the buildings, so I can laugh at you idiots! The Gubbermint has benn berry good to me!"

Well...here we go...the lies of Pearl Harbor begat Operation Paperclip, which begat the Red Scare, which begat the Cuban Missile Crisis, which begat the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, which begat the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., which begat the assassination of Robert Francis Kennedy, which begat the Gulf of Tonkin, which begat the Vietnam War, which begat the Six-Day War, which begat the OPEC crisis, which begat the Iranian hostage crisis, which begat the Iran-Contra/crack scandal, which begat the 1987 stock market crash, which begat the 1993 WTC bombing, which begat the Waco siege, which begat the Oklahoma City Murrah Building bombing, which begat the Ruby Ridge siege, which begat...the myriad and unexplained events of September 11th, 2001.

In other words...what you did not care about in the past has transmogrified to an unimaginable state of being at the present time.

One last bit: "Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it."

Before you check out the information from MR's MLK section, here's the rest of Reverend Jeremiah Wright's speech...the part you DIDN'T hear:

MARTIN LUTHER KING - THE FATAL SHOT CAME FROM A DIFFERENT DIRECTION

This information was originally reproduced from Michael Rivero's What Really Happened news/errata blog - please give it a visit if you haven't done so - I promise you it's also good for real belly laughs once in a while! But buy some stuff from him, too!

Okay...I promised to remove Michael Rivero's posting and come up with one of my own...so here goes (this is the only posting that WRH has ever promoted, and that came with a snarky comment; IIRC, the comment was, "comments on my comments!" Ah, such is life...):

I listen to WBAI (99.5 FM) whenever I can. There are a number of shows that I prefer over the others - I'm an on-and-off listener of NiteShift, The Expert Witness, Off The Hook, Building Bridges, The Personal Computer Show, Radio GBE/The Global Beat Experience, Cat Radio Cafe, Any Saturday with David Rothenberg, Hour Of The Wolf, Back Of The Book, Citizen K (when it was on, as well as Gary Null's show and Robert Knight's program, as well), On The Count, Al Lewis Lives, Radio Free Eireann, Everything Old Is New Again, Free Time For Equal Thought, As I Please, Through The Opera Glass, Here Of A Sunday Morning, Counterspin, Taking Aim, The Christmas Coup Comedy Players, Weaponry, Under The Learning Tree, Burn Baby Burn/Clappers, Mass Backwards, All Mixed Up, The Liquid Sound Lounge and Morning Dew.

But the show that most concerns this posting is The Caldwell Chronicle, featuring Earl Caldwell.

Earl Caldwell is a world-renowned journalist who has worked for The New York Times, the New York Daily News and The Amsterdam News. He was also the only reporter on the scene when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. At the time, the murder was blamed upon James Earl Ray.

It has since been proven that James Earl Ray was a patsy - William Pepper had won a case for the King estate proving that his assassination was the result of a conspiracy, including one Loyd Jowers, the owner of Jim's Grill, where it was purported that the plans for the act took place.

Simply put: the assassination COULD NOT HAVE TAKEN PLACE AS THE OFFICIAL NARRATIVE STATES.

I'll refer you to Michael Rivero's page for the pictures that you'll need to map out the scenario in your head...but just remark upon the extraordinary lengths that were undertaken to ensure that the story could not be challenged:

The bushes where some witnesses saw smoke were CUT DOWN THE NEXT MORNING;
The branches of the tree that originally obfuscated the view between the boarding house bathroom window and the balcony of the Lorraine Motel were removed;
All of the Black officers of the Memphis Police Department were ordered to report away from the scene of the crime;
Charles Stephens was purported to be a witness to James Earl Ray's shooting of King; however, his wife Grace countered his eyewitness statement with the information that Charles was thirteen sheets to the wind! The authorities sided with Charles, and had Grace committed to a mental institution (I believe that she has sought asylum out of the United States);
As in the John Fitzgerald Kennedy assassination, there were doubles of James Earl Ray to dissuade unforeseen elements from derailing the action;
Most importantly...THE ANGLE OF THE PURPORTED SHOT WAS IMPOSSIBLE, MUCH LESS THE ACTUAL FEASIBILITY OF THE SHOT.

In short...what we were told by the government was a GODDAMN LIE.

And to top it all off...it has come to light that the mighty J. Edgar Hoover was born to a Black family!

How bloody crazy is THAT?!?

Ding! Fries are done.

Additional information on the assassination of Martin Luther King and evidence of a cover-up can be found HERE - just so you are all aware, Mike Rivero doesn't promote this blog. That's okay - I'm not doing this for fame; I'm doing this because someone needs to do the right thing. He does a terrific job in illustrating the absolute impossibility of the "official narrative", so read on, dear readers.

I don't know...would you call J. Edgar Hoover a "self-hating nigger"?

A good resource for some of the "factoids" mentioned therein is Paradox Press' Big Book Of Conspiracies, written by Doug Moench and illustrated by some of the best cartoonists illustrating sequential fiction.

Air America's Randi Rhodes said suspended for calling Clinton, Ferraro 'whores'

Air America's Randi Rhodes said suspended for calling Clinton, Ferraro 'whores'
RAW STORY
Published: Thursday April 3, 2008

Air America has allegedly suspended talk radio host Randi Rhodes after she made scathing statements off-air about Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and former Democratic vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro.

"What a whore Geraldine Ferraro is! She's such a fucking whore!" Rhodes remarked. "Hillary is a big fucking whore, too" to a mixed audience reaction. "You know why she's a big fucking whore? Because her deal is always, 'Read the fine print, asshole!'"

A video of Rhodes' remarks appears below.

"Air America has suspended on-air host Randi Rhodes for making inappropriate statements about prominent figures, including Senator Hillary Clinton, at a recent public appearance on behalf of Air America in San Francisco which was sponsored by an Air America affiliate station," according to a statement by Air America released to the Huffington Post.

"Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our Hosts," company chair Charlie Kireker said in a statement.

A further example of why she is not fit to be President of the United States of America, much less the first woman President:

In Speeches, Clinton Often Veers to Dark Side

By Anne E. Kornblut
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, April 3, 2008; A06

It almost always comes when the audience least expects it: the moment Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton brings a roaring crowd to a hush with a heart-rending anecdote.

"I remember listening to a story about a young woman in a small town along the Ohio River, in Meigs County, who worked in a pizza parlor," the Democratic presidential candidate said during a stop in Cleveland, beginning a particularly grim tale.

"She got pregnant, she started having problems. There's no hospital left in Meigs County, so she had to go to a neighboring county. She showed up, and the hospital said, 'You know, you've got to give us $100 before we can see you.' She didn't have $100," Clinton said.

"So the young woman went back home," she continued. "The next time she went back, she was in an ambulance. It turned out she lost the baby. She was airlifted to Columbus."

She paused before concluding: "And after heroic efforts at the medical center, she died." The audience, as always, gasped.

The story has become a staple of Clinton's stump speech, a prime example of how, in a campaign year in which lofty phrases have taken center stage, she has rejected sweeping oratory -- "just words," as her campaign likes to accuse Democratic rival Barack Obama of offering -- in favor of a dramatic speaking style all her own.

In hushed tones, sometimes with palpable sadness in her voice, Clinton tells dark, difficult anecdotes picked up on the campaign trail. They often relate to health matters, culled from her conversations with voters, and are designed to illustrate a policy point.

Presidential candidates across the decades, from Ronald Reagan to Bill Clinton to George W. Bush, have honed the art of picking out stories to bolster a policy position in particularly human terms. Former senator John Edwards (N.C.), who left the Democratic race this year, often cited the stories of people he defended as a trial lawyer. For all of his grandeur, Obama can turn serious as well; at least once, in an effort to demonstrate how fleeting life can be, he detoured from his speech to tell the story of a woman he had recently met who, moments later, found out that her child had been killed in a car accident.

For Clinton, the approach seems to bring together her best skills, especially her ability to listen to voters she meets. In speeches that sometimes wear on and sometimes derail into deadening policy, sharing bleak stories can focus the audience's attention.

It also allows Clinton, who has only recently grown more comfortable talking about herself, to show that she understands how people live and how her policies would affect them. The story of the pregnant woman, which the candidate heard from a deputy sheriff in Ohio, provides a chance for her to talk about health care. At a town-hall meeting in Hanging Rock, Ohio, where the story drew audible gulps of horror, she ended by saying: "It's a real indictment of our health-care system. That shouldn't happen in America."

To emphasize her work on mental-health care for veterans, Clinton regularly describes meeting an Iraq war veteran whose wedding ring melted into his hand during an attack, and who also suffered a brain injury that forced him to rely on his wife for basic directions.

She routinely quotes the young man as asking: "Where do I go to get my brain back?"

"He said, 'You know, I went to West Point. Nobody had to take care of me before,' " Clinton said as she told the tale in Huntington, W.Va., on March 19. " 'Now every morning my wife has to give me a list about where I'm supposed to go and what I'm supposed to do.' "

In another story, retold recently in Youngstown, Ohio, she describes a "young woman who lost her husband in Iraq, a lovely young woman who had a daughter."

"Here's what happened to her," Clinton said. "She was given $6,000. She was told to leave the [military] base within 90 days. She was told her daughter was no longer eligible for Army medical care. She was basically on her own. So I said, 'That's not right.' So we began to work to change what was really cruel -- you lose your husband, you lose your wife, you lose your mom or your dad, and you're out, and nobody seemed to care."

Shortly before the Texas primary, Clinton spoke of a mother whose daughter collapsed in the crowd at a Houston rally and who, upon receiving a bottle of water from the candidate, whispered in her ear that she could not get her daughter medical treatment.

"She said, 'I don't have any health insurance -- I can't take her anywhere,' " Clinton recalled a few stops later. She said it was people like that who need for her to be president. "I'm not asking you to vote for me so much as I'm asking you to vote for yourselves," she said.

Perhaps the most shocking story Clinton has conveyed in recent months happened on Feb. 22, when a Dallas police officer was killed in an accident while escorting her motorcade. Late that night, in front of a riled-up crowd in Toledo that seemed only vaguely aware of what had happened, she described an "accident that resulted in his death, and it was just an incredibly sad loss, not only for his family -- he was a wonderful man; I visited the hospital and got a chance to express my sympathy to his family -- but to the police department."

Even though it was past 10:30 on a Friday night, she seemed determined to hush the crowd with a solemn message, saying: "It was really a reminder of the extraordinary work that our law enforcement officials do for us."

But it is the story of the pregnant pizza worker to which Clinton comes back repeatedly. At a Democratic dinner on March 2, she recounted it in full. She told it at a late-night rally in Cleveland just two days before the Ohio primary March 4, bringing the noisy audience to near-silence. She told it again in Charleston, W.Va, last month. Even her daughter, Chelsea, who was with her mother in Ohio when she heard the story, repeated it at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania last week. Clinton was told the story by Bryan Holman, the Meigs County deputy sheriff, who said the deceased woman was Trina Bachtel, whom campaign officials had been unable to identify.

Bachtel, Holman said, had been turned away from the hospital not only for lack of $100 but also because she had unpaid bills -- a detail that Clinton has not mentioned. Public records show that Bachtel of Pomeroy, Ohio, died on Aug. 15, 2007, at age 35. She previously had thousands of dollars in hospital debt, but it was paid off by 2005.

"It was a really terrible story," said Holman, who said he voted for Clinton in the Ohio primary. He said he is grateful that she has taken Bachtel's story to heart. "That is what we wanted."

Students turn out to protest war in Iraq, enact changes
By: Vivian Ho
Posted: 4/3/08

David Mynott II and Donnell Graves protested against the AIPAC on High Street.

Nichole Szembrot said she is trying to give the 21st century a very 1960s twist.

Szembrot, a College of Arts and Sciences junior, organized an anti-Iran war protest outside the American Israel Public Affairs Committee office in Boston yesterday in hopes of developing a "series of escalating actions," she said. Four other protesters held signs reading "Love the World Without Shame," "Love Iran" and "Stop the (Next) War" while distributing fliers describing their actions.

AIPAC is a pro-Israel lobby group that has been supporting sanctions against Iran, Szembrot said.

"They were encouraging the U.S. to impose sanctions on Iran despite the fact that there haven't been any illicit activities documented since 2003," Szembrot said. "They're still trying to spread this idea that Iran is a danger and it's not true. They're trying to stir up fear."

"We're generally just trying to raise awareness of what the administration is telling people," she said. "They're using very war-mongering-type language and trying to create conflict."

Szembrot said Iran is not an enemy, and while its government may be hostile to the United States, "the people are not."

She said her fervor for activism came after her Spring Break activism trip to Washington, D.C., where she and about 40 other participants from other schools sanctioned a "stop loss" against Congress.

"We went around to every Congressman delivering them stop loss orders, basically telling them that they couldn't go on their breaks until all the troops came home," she said.

The students went on to stop Congress from leaving by blocking entrances to parking garages and major intersections, she said.

Szembrot said about 30 students were arrested at this demonstration and said activism is not just important, but fun.

"Our government doesn't know what we want unless we tell them," she said. "People aren't making demands, so our government can't respond to them because they don't know what we want."

Protester Donnell Graves, a local artist, said because Congress is not "doing anything" about the Iraq war, activism is important.

"We can't get discouraged," he said. "People are afraid of doing things out of the ordinary. America is so selfish."

"A lot of people are making serious money off the war," he said. "That's why they don't want to leave. Israel is in bed with the United States."

David Mynott Jr., a protester from Cambridge, said the protest was necessary to "set the record straight."

"AIPAC is a very effective propaganda machine for both the Israeli and U.S. governments," he said. "They've been lying to the American people for years."

AIPAC representatives were not available for comment despite repeated phone calls and messages left yesterday.

Mynott said activism is "energizing," but is effective only in "combining our energy" and "gathering in groups."

"Sometimes it's like throwing paper airplanes at a bulldozer," Ashley Green, a Simmons College senior, said. "It's really difficult to penetrate this system we call a democracy."

After glancing at the small gathering around her, she said, "I guess this is what a democracy looks like." © Copyright 2008 The Daily Free Press

Mukasey Admits Government Knew Of Call About 9/11, Before 9/11!

Echelon spy network would have intercepted, catalogued all transmissions

During a speech at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco on Thursday, Attorney General Michael Mukasey tacitly admitted that the U.S. government intercepted a call about 9/11 - before 9/11.

Before the 2001 terrorist attacks, he said, "we knew that there had been a call from someplace that was known to be a safe house in Afghanistan and we knew that it came to the United States. We didn't know precisely where it went," reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Mukasey is then reported to have "grimaced, swallowed hard, and seemed to tear up as he reflected on the weaknesses in America's anti-terrorism strategy prior to the 2001 attacks. "We got three thousand. . . . We've got three thousand people who went to work that day and didn't come home to show for that," he said, struggling to maintain his composure."

Despite Mukasey using the example to justify warrantless wiretapping of Americans by claiming the government was unable to intercept the call, the fact is that no law would have prevented the government from listening in on the call. Existing FISA provisions would have covered the interception of the call.

In addition, it would be naive to consider that Echelon - the global spy network run by the NSA - did not intercept and catalogue the call. In 1999, the Australian government admitted that they were part of an NSA-led global intercept and surveillance grid in alliance with the US and Britain that could listen to "every international telephone call, fax, e-mail, or radio transmission," on the planet.

Furthermore, two days after 9/11, Germany's daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported that the Echelon spy network had provided warnings of the terror attack 6 months in advance.

It is admitted that the CIA had tracked the alleged hijackers to an Al-Qaeda meeting in Malaysia in January 2000 and then let them back into the US. The U.S. government was fully aware of their movements without the need for a phone tap and allowed them safe passage around the globe.

As Newsweek reported, five of the named hijackers "received training at secure U.S. military installations in the 1990s".

Under these circumstances, the contention that the U.S. government intercepted such a call but was unable or unwilling to listen to it due to legal restrictions is completely inconceivable.

Mukasey's admission is therefore further evidence that the U.S. government was responsible for - at the very bare minimum - "malfeasant complicity in the 9/11 attacks," as Keith Olbermann stated on his MSNBC show yesterday.

Olbermann thinks it likely Mukasey is simply embellishing in order to propagandize for warrantless wiretapping, but the fact that the hijackers were carefully tracked every step of the way before 9/11 by the U.S. government and indeed trained at their military installations, in addition to Echelon having recorded phone conversations about 9/11 six months before the attack, strongly suggests that Mukasey unintentionally told the truth - and unequivocally let slip U.S. government foreknowledge of 9/11.

Just remember, dear readers - this is what is known as a "limited hangout"; an admission that does not take responsibility or accountability for actions taken.

So...on to some more news:

9/11 Victim Compensation Fund: Cui Bono?
by JERRY MAZZA

9/11 Victim Compensation Fund: Cui Bono? A certain sense of gravity seems lacking as the sad gray sky fills the huge windows, just a handful of blocks from the perished towers and their lost lives, which is what this is supposed to be about if I’m not mistaken.

Eligibility for the Victim Compensation Fund required victims’ “physical harm or death” as a result of one of the crashes, or being the personal representative of a deceased victim.

But the hook, the big quid pro quo is the waiver of a claimant’s right to file suit if he or she filed for fund money. The moment he or she submitted an application for fund money, he or she could forget about a suit against the airlines or the government.

Also, the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001 was the last part of the three-part Air Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act of 2001 [ATSA) issued at President Bush’s order. It was issued only 12 days after the tragedy and most probably not closely read by most members of Congress who passed it.

Part one was a $10 billion dollar handout in federal credit instruments to air carriers.

Part two was an additional $5 billion boost to compensate air carriers for direct losses, either from being grounded and/or incremental losses beginning September 11, 2001, ending December 31, 2001, as a direct result of the attacks.

Thus the airlines received a $15 billion subsidy to keep them from going under. There was just one stipulation calling for limiting pay raises to employees or officers whose total compensation exceeds $300,000.

If victims or survivors decided not to take the money, the law said they could “bring in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York an exclusive cause of action for damages based upon the substantive law, including choice of law principles, of the State in which the crash occurred unless such law was inconsistent with or preempted by Federal law.”

In plain English, it meant they could file a lawsuit for damages right in this courthouse.

The man to evaluate all appeals was the fund’s special master, Kenneth R. Feinberg. He was appointed by then Attorney General John Ashcroft on November 26, 2001.

In his Final Report of Fund activities, Feinberg said with no due modesty, “In my view, the Fund was an unqualified success: 97 percent of the families of deceased victims who might otherwise have pursued lawsuits for years have received compensation through the Fund. . . .

“In total, the Fund distributed over $7.049 billion to survivors of 2,880 persons killed in the September 11 attacks and to 2,680 individuals who were injured in the attacks or in the rescue efforts conducted thereafter. The average award for families of victims killed in the attacks exceeded $2 million. The average award for injured victims was nearly $400,000. . . .”

Bottom line: the airlines received over twice as much as 9/11 victims and their families.

As Truthout.org reported on December 23, 2003, the actual cut-off date of the two-year application period, “as many as 73 families see the process of U.S. government compensation as an attempt to protect those who should be held accountable for what they believe was mass murder. They ignored a midnight deadline last night, their last chance to apply for government cash. And today, they begin a new stage in an arduous odyssey and will sue their government, airlines and state and local authorities.”

Think of the consequences of an open trial of plaintiffs against the airlines and/or government. Think of the discovery, of all the facts which could used to prove those thousands of 9/11 deaths were murders, conceivably by home bodies with foreign allies.

The cost would be the heads of the big kahunas of our government and their associates. Thus the $7.049 billion in Victim Fund’s payout was a small price to pay for the silence it produced.

Amazingly, after five and a half years, not one single victim’s case from 9/11 has even been heard in a court of law -- in spite of the fact that the US is known as a litigious society with an abundance of aggressive lawyers.

Many thought the relatives of the 9/11 victims would go for justice and compensation in the courts. Not so, particularly under the pressure of the VCF.

As of March 20, Christopher Bollyn reported that Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein, who has overseen and handled all 9/11 victim lawsuits, said “that he wants the 58 or so remaining cases resolved as quickly as possible.”

Bollyn added, “What this means is that he wants weary plaintiffs to negotiate with Sheila L. Birnbaum, the ‘special mediator’ for the court, and accept the money offered to them. This way, nearly all of the cases were resolved through out of court settlements.”

In fact, the most notable would-be litigant, Ellen Mariani, was harassed from the date of filing her original RICO suit on December 20, 2001, (via her then attorney, Phil Berg) against the Bush administration.

For speaking out tirelessly about the need for a trial, for an investigation and discovery of the real facts, Mrs. Mariani was harassed until she was eventually replaced as administrator of her husband’s estate.

With the help of the Greenberg-Traurig law firm, the same firm that served Bush in the 2000 election, Mrs. Mariani’s step-daughter Lauren Peters was put in Ellen Mariani’s place as the estate administrator.

Lauren Peters’ name also replaced Ellen Mariani’s on the latter’s landmark suit against United Airlines. A New York federal court UAL lawsuit had been cleverly waiting in the wings to replace Mrs. Mariani’s ground breaking lawsuit. Today, Mrs. Mariani remains a co-beneficiary of the yet-to-be-paid fund, a widow living on Social Security and under a gag order, which the government has violated with continual harassment.

Israeli connections to the events

Let us begin with Judge Hellerstein, who has long-standing Zionist connections and close family ties to the state of Israel.

His wife, as Christopher Bollyn points out, “is a former senior vice president and current treasurer of a New York-based organization called AMIT. AMIT promotes Jewish immigration to Israel and stands for Americans for Israel and Torah. AMIT’s motto is “Building Israel -- One Child at a Time.”

Bollyn also points out that “all of the relatives’ wrongful death lawsuits, that is criminal cases against American Airlines or United Airlines or any of the foreign-owned airport security companies, namely Argenbright Security (British), Globe Aviation Services Corp. (Swedish), and Huntleigh USA Corp. (Israeli) have been handled by Hellerstein.

In fact, all of the relatives’ wrongful death lawsuits, criminal cases against the airlines and their security companies were consolidated by the presiding judge into a negligence lawsuit, which, as a civil case, is much less likely to be argued or investigated in an open trial with a jury.

“In the case of at least one of these security defendants, Huntleigh USA, there would seem to be a serious conflict of interest for the judge [be]cause the airline security company who is responsible for the shocking security lapses at both the Boston and Newark airports on 9/11 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Israeli company (ICTS), headed by Israelis with clear ties to Israel’s military intelligence agency, the Mossad.

“Menachem Atzmon, who was convicted in Israel in 1996 for campaign finance fraud, and his business partner Ezra Harel, covered management of security at the Boston and Newark airports when their company, ICTS, bought Huntleigh USA in 1999.”

UAL Flight 175 and AA II, which were the hit-planes for Towers One and Two, originated in Boston. UAL 93, the airliner that supposedly crashed in Pennsylvania, departed from Newark airport.

“Some victim’s families brought suits against Huntleigh, claiming the Israeli-owned airport security firm had been grossly negligent on 9/11. While these relatives have a right to discovery and to know what Huntleigh did or didn’t do to protect their loved ones on 9/11, Huntleigh was granted complete congressional protection in 2002 and will not be called to account for its actions on 9/11 in any US court.

“On July 26, 2002, the US House of Representatives passed the Homeland Security Bill and slipped in a last minute provision for complete corporate immunity for the three foreign-owned security companies. Likewise, the Senate voted to shield the three security companies from corporate responsibility on November 19, 2002. These congressional votes prevent any legal investigation to discovery into the security failures of these foreign companies on 9/11.”

Next, “Special Master Kenneth Feinberg’s legal firm is listed as one of the top ten supporters of the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies for 2004-2005. The Institute is an Israel-based Zionist organization that supports the construction of the illegal wall of separation across Palestine.”

Feinberg was appointed by then Attorney General John Ashcroft, a dedicated conservative Christian-cum-Zionist sympathizer, backing groups such as Stand for Israel.

Most notably, Ashcroft now runs a lobbying firm, whose most stellar client is Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), Israel’s major military aerospace company. It hired the former US attorney general to help secure US government approval to sell an Israeli weapons system to the South Korean Air Force. They hired Ashcroft to raise their chances against an American-made system from Chicago-based Boeing Company.

Ironically, Ashcroft was born in Chicago. When he headed the Justice Department, his dual-citizenship Israeli-American assistant was Michael Chertoff, who directed the FBI non-investigation of the events of 9/11. Chertoff is now secretary of Homeland Security.

Sheila L. Birnbaum, the special mediator for Hellerstein, is a partner in Skadden Arps, one of the leading corporate law firms with business ties to Israel. Skadden Arps is one of the legal advisers to Israeli companies doing business in and raising capital outside of Israel. It offers bi-lingual English/Hebrew personnel as well.

Courtroom coda

After lunch, I return to the polished voices of United Airlines, American, Boeing, Hellerstein, et al. They continue the dialogue to avoid culpability via litigation from plaintiffs. The jocularity rises. Yet at some point, the lawyer for the plaintiffs stands to speak. In essence, he reminds Judge Hellerstein and the room that Congress created the Victims Compensation Fund, and it asked victims families to relinquish the right of bringing suit against the airlines or government in return for compensation. The lawyer wondered why Congress would ask that of the families, and if that was just? Of if it was an unfair exchange? The dialogue at this point took on a more serious, even intense tone. Reality had entered the discussion. So much so, that at some point two of the court clerks asked to speak with Judge Hellerstein in his chambers.

When Judge Hellerstein returned, he said that the plaintiffs would have a trial, but it would have to be bifurcated, that is, split in half. The liability cases would be conducted with the airlines. And only the damages cases would be heard in court. At that point, the notion that the cases would have to be “sanitized” passed loudly from one lawyer’s lips to another’s to the judge. Take from that what meanings or “evidence” you will.

Hellerstein added that he would name three cases for the remaining damages cases on Monday, June 25, to be “tried.” The judge reserved to himself the right to decide which cases to try. He said, “I want to settle as many cases as I can as soon as I can. That is my job.”

And that, at the end of the day, was the bottom line. Would it be a victory for some or more of the same for all?

We’ll know soon enough. But don’t expect too many surprises in the continuation of this surreal if not tragic series of events.
