McCain's Mansions: The Houses That Greed Built

"Most working families today do not have homes that have anywhere near ten rooms. John McCain has ten houses. Many working people in America have to work two and three jobs to provide for their families and pay their car loans. John McCain hops on a private jet. Is it any wonder why McCain champions a George Bush agenda of cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy, helping oil companies turn record profits, and leaving working families to fend for themselves? McCain's velvet world leaves him utterly unprepared to make the tough choices we need to restore the middle class and ensure that everyone in America has quality, affordable health insurance."

- Andy Stern, President, Service Employees International Union (SEIU)

Dear Supporter,

John McCain is soaring to new heights of hypocrisy on his wife's personal jet. He flies around the country bent on duping the public into believing he's "one of them," a regular guy who can empathize with Americans facing an overwhelming economic crush. What's more, he disparages those who oppose his ridiculous policy proposals as "elitist." But who's the real elitist?

The REAL McCain is a multimillionaire who owns ten luxurious homes. The REAL McCain backs President Bush's tax cuts for big corporations. The REAL McCain empathizes only with the interests of our nation's wealthy minority, not its money-strapped majority. But far too many are buying into McCain's deceit because the corporate press won't present the whole picture, so we created this video to educate the public about the REAL McCain.

Watch the video and send it to everyone you know.

Together, you have been a force in making sure The REAL McCain videos have been seen by nearly 6.5 million people. But as Frank Rich noted in his NY Times column yesterday, 40% of Americans hear too little about McCain from the mainstream media, meaning "the public doesn't know who on earth John McCain is." That's why it's crucial you ensure this video is seen by as many as possible, and that we use each and every tool at our disposal to get the word out. Send this on to five friends and family members, and tell them to send it to five people they know. Get it to your local news outlets and blogs and networking sites like Digg. Raise hell about McCain's economic duplicity!

AFL-CIO President John Sweeney summed it up best when he said McCain "simply doesn't understand the challenges America's working families are facing because he isn't remotely affected by them." It's up to us to tell people who McCain really is, a jet-setting elitist more concerned with corporate lobbyists than hard-working Americans.

Yours,
Robert Greenwald

McCain's Georgia Policy

Robert Creamer
08.18.08

At first the unfolding conflict between Russia and its neighbor the Republic of Georgia seemed to be just what the McCain candidacy needed: a foreign policy crisis that would allow him to demonstrate a "tough, decisive, experienced" mastery of foreign affairs, and a new rationale for why Americans should choose experience over change in a dangerous world.

But it hasn't taken long for the developments in the Caucuses to become a growing political liability instead.

First, the unfolding conflict provides a fresh example of how McCain's War in Iraq has sapped American power and weakened American security.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates warned last week that Russia's actions in Georgia might fundamentally alter its relationship with the United States. Of course that is exactly what the Russians have in mind, since they are not at all happy with their current role in the world -- or the way they believe the United States and Western Europe have sought to limit their influence, especially with their neighbors and former client states.

Russia has been smarting for years over its inability to prevent the US-lead NATO action that allowed Kosovo to secede from its long-time ally Serbia. It is none too pleased at the agreement to base a US "anti-missile" defense system in Poland.

First and foremost, the Russian action in Georgia has been intended to support separatist pro-Russian enclaves of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. But it is also intended to demonstrate to other former Soviet Republics that their alliances with the West have very little value if they come into conflict with Russian interests. The Russians know that the Bush Administration's management of U.S. security policy has left the US with very few options to limit resurgent Russian influence.

Of course the crisis in Georgia is just the latest example of how the War in Iraq has massively limited American's ability to respond to this -- or any other -- security crisis.

America already had one major military operation underway in Afghanistan when the Bush administration -- with McCain's full support -- recklessly poured most of our other military assets into the invasion of Iraq. Today most Army and Marine units are either deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan, preparing to deploy or recovering from deployment. The fact is that at the present time, we do not have the wherewithal to respond militarily to a crisis even if such a response were necessary or appropriate.

As a result, John McCain's strident statements following Russia's military actions only place into relief the reality that he has continuously supported Bush policies that make us weaker -- in spite of his tough talk.

Secondly, as the situation in Georgia develops it becomes clearer by the day that the Bush-McCain Iraq policy has severely undercut our diplomatic options as well. Apart from generally poisoning the good will of countries around the world, the Bush-McCain invasion of Iraq lowered the bar for the rest of the world when it comes to justifying the invasion of one country by another.

It has made it very difficult for the U.S. to take the moral or political high ground against Russia when just six years ago our country invaded and occupied another nation that had not attacked or immediately threatened us -- and didn't have the weapons of mass destruction that were used to argue that they might "potentially" threaten our security.

Finally, the Georgia conflict has shined a spotlight on McCain's chief foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann.

Scheunamann was a major organizer of the campaign to get the U.S to invade Iraq. He was a board member of the Project for a New American Century that circulated the now-famous manifesto signed by key Neo Cons that first called for the Iraq invasion. He was a founder of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq. More recently he has been a paid lobbyist for a number of foreign governments including Macedonia, Taiwan and, most importantly, the Republic of Georgia.

According to records from the Justice Department's foreign agents registration office, Scheunamann's two-person firm has received $830,000 from Georgia since 2004. Though Scheunamann now claims to have taken a leave of absence from lobbying, his latest contract, with Georgia's National Security Council, was signed as recently as April 17th. According to the Los Angeles Times, McCain spoke by phone with Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili that day and then issued a statement denouncing Russian moves to "undermine Georgian's sovereignty."

The paper also cites lobbying forms filed by Scheunamann's firm Orion indicating that McCain sponsored or co-sponsored four Senate resolutions on behalf of Georgia and other Orion clients: Latvia, Macedonia, Romania and Taiwan.

The poor judgment McCain showed by appointing a man who was serving as a paid foreign agent to be his chief foreign policy adviser is simply breathtaking. It is even more so because of the history of the current conflict.

There is more than appearance of conflict of interests. Before Georgia's President Saakashvili sent Georgian troops to reassert control in the semi-autonomous region of Ossetia, even the US State Department says it repeatedly warned him against precipitous action that might provoke a Russian response. He did it anyway. In other words, the government of the United States and Georgia had different agendas, different interests, and different policies with respect to the Ossetia conflict.

Where were Scheunamann's loyalties? Did he represent the position of the government of the United States, or of his old client Saakashvili. Do the actions and statements of McCain represent his independent judgment of what is in the best interests of the United States, or the views of a top adviser who made just short of a million dollars representing a foreign power?

What's more, if Scheunamann and McCain did encourage Saakashvili to send troops to Ossetia, it once again calls into question their simple strategic judgment. Saakashvili's action has been a disaster for the Georgian government that has lead to the rout of the small Georgian army, and increased the likelihood that he will ultimately be replaced by someone more acceptable to Russia. This is exactly the kind of poor strategic judgment that McCain and Scheunamann used to lead America into the War in Iraq. Americans don't want more of that kind of judgment.

Odds are, the more we learn about the involvement of McCain and Scheunamann in the Georgia fiasco, the more that McCain's foreign policy judgment will be called into question. Many Republicans have prayed for a foreign policy crisis that could refocus voter attention on foreign affairs and away from the domestic economic disaster. Sometimes you should be careful what you wish for.

That's not urine...it's raining!

Amazingly, this enabling pig can piss all over this crowd, and without a cloud present in the sky, will believe that it's raining...I mean, who are the idiots clapping when she states that she's upholding the Constitution?

Holding it up to a shredding machine, maybe...

But...think about this for a second.

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who admitted that she did not read the Articles of Impeachment submitted by Congressman Dennis Kucinich, has inadvertently offered to the truth-seekers, the ANSWER.

She says that if someone could produce a reason to impeach, that she will commence impeachment hearings. Now...there has been a TON of bloody evidence offered, but apparently, it doesn't pass the smell test.

Nancy...WHAT WILL CONVINCE YOU?

TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED.

I WILL PERSONALLY TAKE TIME OFF AND MAKE THE TRIP TO YOUR WASHINGTON, D.C. OFFICE, AND PRESENT TO YOU THE REQUISITE EVIDENCE...but I'll need for you to pinpoint what it is that will get the ball rolling.

Apparently, 935 instances of the Monkey King and his crew of primates lying and commiting crimes against WE THE PEOPLE, not to mention the aforementioned Articles of Impeachment, weren't quite enough...I understand...it's all over the place.

So...WHAT PIECE OF EVIDENCE DO YOU NEED HAMMERED TO YOUR WOODEN HEAD?

Hey...I gots to know.

Cops Tase Barely Conscious Boy With Broken Back 19 Times For Non-Compliance

Yeah...you heard it right!

Cops Tase Barely Conscious Boy With Broken Back 19 Times For Non-Compliance

Now...what can you say about this?

The boy "deserved it" for NOT COMPLYING?!?

If the boy dies...will they state that cause of death was due to...NON-COMPLIANCE?

Asshats.

In other news...

Here's Dennis Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment listing; here is a summary of crimes against WE THE PEOPLE.

Have you had enough yet?

Have you yet realized that the oil companies are gaming the system to reap unforetold profits?

Do you know that when heretofore "unknown" oil fields are revealed, that oil prices will "re-stabilize" to around $50 a barrel?

Don't you realize that the auto manufacturers were aware of this? Did you really think that they would take a loss, just to sell off a new car, to pay for your gas?

Yeah...just sit back and watch another season of American Idol..."just move on...nothing to see here..."

Argh...let me find something else...

Oh, yeah...this tool: US church 'killer' wrote of hate

Jim Adkisson is accused of opening fire with a 12-gauge shotgun

A man accused of shooting dead two people in a Tennessee church was motivated by hatred of liberals and anger at being jobless, US police say.

Knoxville Police Chief Sterling Owen said they had found a letter in Jim Adkisson's car in which he described his feelings.

There were about 200 people in the church, which is known for its liberal stance, at the time of Sunday's attack.

Mr. Adkisson, 58, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Children were putting on a play at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church when a gunman entered with a 12-gauge shotgun and opened fire on the congregation.

People dived for cover under pews but several adults were hit, two of them fatally, before a group managed to overpower Mr Adkisson.

Police Chief Owen said Mr. Adkisson had brought the gun into the church in a guitar case.

Police guard the entrance to the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church (27 July 2008)
The church's congregation had been watching a performance by 25 children

Officers also found a four-page letter in the suspect's car.

"It appears that what brought him to this horrible event was his lack of being able to obtain a job, his frustration over that, and his stated hatred for the liberal movement," Chief Owen said.

"It appears that the church had received some publicity in the recent past regarding its liberal stance on things and that is at least one of the issues we believe caused that church to be selected."

The Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church describes itself on its website as working for social change since the 1950s, including desegregation, racial harmony, fair wages, women's rights and gay rights.

Police say it appears Mr. Adkisson was acting alone.

The two people who were killed were Greg McKendry, a 60-year-old usher at the church, and Linda Kreager, who died of her injuries at a nearby hospital a few hours after the shooting.

Church member Barbara Kemper said that Mr. McKendry had "stood in front of the gunman and took the blast to protect the rest of us".

--

Hatred of liberals...well, that's a GREAT REASON to shoot people, eh? What a TOOL. I hate dumb, brainless nitwits, but you don't see me mowing down schmendricks like chaff, do you?

All he did was to prove what a useless human being he was...TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY, idiot.

I got a job for you...why don't you SECURE OUR BORDER? That way, you can ensure that other Americans' jobs aren't lost...except, you obviously don't give a tinker's damn about anyone else, do you?

Rosie O'Donnell 9/11 Conspiracy Comments: Popular Mechanics Responds

Click here to listen to Charles Goyette

Recently, Rosie O’Donnell, a co-host of ABC talk show The View, made comments on the show that renewed controversy over the collapse of World Trade Center 7.

While saying she didn’t know what to believe about the U.S. government’s involvement in the attacks of Sept. 11, she said, “I do believe that it’s the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel. I do believe that it defies physics that World Trade Center tower 7—building 7, which collapsed in on itself—it is impossible for a building to fall the way it fell without explosives being involved. World Trade Center 7. World Trade [Center] 1 and 2 got hit by planes—7, miraculously, the first time in history, steel was melted by fire. It is physically impossible.”

She continued: “To say that we don’t know that it imploded, that it was an implosion and a demolition, is beyond ignorant. Look at the films, get a physics expert here [on the show] from Yale, from Harvard, pick the school—[the collapse] defies reason.” (Watch the clip here)

For those interested in what physics and demolition experts have said regarding WTC 7’s collapse, as detailed in our book Debunking 9/11 Myths, Popular Mechanics offers these notes:

1. Initial reports from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) misunderstood the amount of damage the 47-floor WTC7 sustained from the debris of the falling North Tower—because in early photographs, WTC7 was obscured by smoke and debris.

Towers 1 and 7 were approximately 300 ft. apart, and pictures like the ones here and here offer a clear visual of how small that distance is for structures that large. After further studies, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) told Popular Mechanics that debris from the 110-floor North Tower hit WTC7 with the force of a volcanic eruption. Nearly a quarter of the building was carved away over the bottom 10 stories on its south face, and significant damage was visible up to the 18th floor (see p. 24 of this report, and the screengrab below of an image of WTC7's damaged south face).

The unusual design of WTC7 is also crucial to the discussion, in that key columns supported extreme loads—as much as 2000 sq. ft. of floor area for each floor—as the building straddled an electrical substation. “What our preliminary analysis has shown is that if you take out just one column on one of the lower floors,” NIST lead investigator Shyam Sunder told Popular Mechanics, “it could cause a vertical progression of collapse so that the entire section comes down.” The tower wasn’t hit by a plane, but it was severely wounded by the collapse of the North Tower. Which is when the fires started.

2. The North and South Towers of the World Trade Center weren’t knocked down by planes—they both stood for more than a half-hour after the impacts. But the crashes destroyed support columns and ignited infernos that ultimately weakened—not melted—the steel structures until the towers could no longer support their own weights (NIST offers a primer here). Ms. O’Donnell fundamentally misstates the case with her use of the word “melted”: Evidence currently points to WTC7 also collapsing because fires weakened its ravaged steel structure.

Tower 7 housed the city’s emergency command center, so there were a number of fuel tanks located throughout the building—including two 6000-gal. tanks in the basement that fed some generators in the building by pressurized lines. “Our working hypothesis is that this pressurized line was supplying fuel [to the fire] for a long period of time,” according to Sunder. Steel melts at about 2,750 degrees Fahrenheit—but it loses strength at temperatures as low as 400 F. When temperatures break 1000 degrees F, steel loses nearly 50 percent of its strength. It is unknown what temperatures were reached inside WTC7, but fires in the building raged for seven hours before the collapse.

3. Demolition experts tell Popular Mechanics that wiring a building the size of WTC7 for clandestine demolition would present insurmountable logistical challenges. That issue aside, there’s a clear-cut engineering explanation for why the building fell the way it did. Trusses on the fifth and seventh floors of the building were designed to transfer loads from one set of columns to another; with the south face heavily damaged, the other columns were likely overtaxed. In engineering terms, the “progressive collapse” began on the eastern side, when weakened columns failed from the damage and fire. The entire building fell in on itself as the slumping east side dragged down the west side in a diagonal pattern. Still, damage to the Verizon Building (see p. 21 of this report), directly west of WTC7, and to Fiterman Hall (see here) directly north, show that it was hardly an orderly collapse.

NIST is currently preparing its final report on the collapse of WTC7, which is expected to be released this spring. In order to address concerns of conspiracy theorists, the organization added “Hypothetical Blast Analysis” to its research, according to a December 2006 progress report. The report also points out that “NIST has found no evidence of a blast or controlled demolition.”

Another dig at the Peak Oil nitwits...

Okay...let's nail this carcass to the cemetery, where it belongs.

Oil is NOT a "fossil fuel". That indicates that oil ONLY comes from the remains of prehistoric flora and fauna, primarily dinosaur fossils.

Well, as a dinosaur enthusiast (I don't purport to be a paleontologist, but I am aware of Dr. Louis S. B. Leakey...yes, I know my paleontologists), I am aware that the remains of dinosaurs have been found in above ground, naturally-formed structures...so how come we can't just take a straw and suck out some of that "Black Gold"?

Because OIL IS PRODUCED ABIOTICALLY...damn.

Do a search for Eugene Island + oil.

Okay...is the verbiage/text a little dry? Just go here: Oil Doesn’t Come from Squashed Ferns and Fish?

Read that link, as well as David McGowan's many discussions and rants on "Peak Oil" at his page...for your ease, I will link to those postings below:

And last, but not least, Newsletter #92 - National Treasure - Book Of Secrets (Behind The Scenes)...this link doesn't really have much to do with the above agenda, but it does have a creditable analysis of the current candidates for the highest office in the land. Good stuff.

Please understand - I've done due diligence on this issue. I had not even heard of Thomas Gold previous to my discovery of the true origin of oil. He is considered a plagiarist by many of the scientists who conducted the original research.

Please read The "Abiotic Oil" Controversy.

Now, having said all that...am I advocationg that we don't need to find and/or utilize alternate energy sources? Hardly. Oil / gas seems to be the best resources to use in industry and transportation. What I am advocating is that we begin to use other sources of energy for our personal / home use.

Solar panels are now performing better than ever before.

Windmills are a great source of natural, non-wasteful energy.

Sugar cane...ahhh...if I'd only tried a bit harder to set up some sort of importing for this resource...I have had plans to import sugar cane and to produce cane sugar for mass consumption. Cane sugar, if I recall correctly, is a natural sugar that is readily metabolized by the human body, without the deadly payload of the sugar substitutes, and minus the empty carbohydrates of granulated sugar.

Guess what?

It turns out that the waste products from sugar cane can be manufactured into a form of ethanol that is SEVEN TIMES MORE POTENT THAN CORN ETHANOL!

Imagine that.

Now, you're probably wondering why I'm giving out such a lucrative idea...here's why:

I don't have the requisite capital available to begin such a venture; however, I know that there are some out there who DO.

Here's my challenge to you:

Are you willing to improve the Human Condition?
Do you want to be known as a Hero of Humanity?
Do you want to make money hand over fist?
And...more importantly - do you wish to put a stop to those greedy corporations who are gaming the system by stifling all alternative energy research?

Well...this is how you do it.

Thanks, Scott...you schmuck!

The image above is of someone who is in the unenviable situation of having to say goodbye to a family member...the second time for the LAST TIME.

That family should receive any and all proceeds from Scott McClellan's "limited hangout" tome, directly implicating the Bush Administration as to LYING TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IN ORDER TO ENGAGE IN A CONFLICT AGAINST A SOVEREIGN NATION.

THEY LIED TO YOU, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

What are you going to do about it?

What happens when it is YOU in the picture, saying goodbye to your loved ones for the last time?

We will see the forest for the trees. All of our self-help books would disappear, all of our therapy sessions and pill popping habits will go bye bye. Why? Because the way we live is the cause of our depression..
What are the ONLY things that matter right now?

Gay marriage doesn't matter...racism doesn't matter...Obama or Hilary don't matter...job security doesn't matter...your clothes don't matter....the music you listen to doesn't matter...your grades don't matter...feminism doesn't matter...public education doesn't matter (because we are only teaching kids how to be good employees)...how fucked up you got last night doesn't matter...none of these things matter..

The global temperature is rising, our landfills are filling rapidly, land is disappearing, resources are dissipating, oil costs are at record high, asthma is on the rise, pollution is rampant, cancer is on the rise, the endangered species list is longer than the death toll in Iraq..need I say more? But hey...who needs all this bad news?

We have to get serious in order to fix the mess we made, or else why have children? So they can clean up our mess? I wanna have fun, but fun that doesn't require watching celebrities fuck up their lives. Fun that doesn't require getting wasted. I want to be able to walk in Yosemite without treading on private or state-owned property. Find more places that are free besides the public library..

Wonder why our favorite national drug is alcohol? Could it be because alcohol makes us so talkative and "fun", so loose and fancy free? Have you been to a party w/o alcohol? We don't know how to talk to each other, in most cases another person might as well be an alien. We are used to our jobs setting the stage for interaction. Fake, surface value conversations. "How are you today?" "Well the truth is, I can't stand it when you ask me that question because you don't really want to know, you are hiding behind civilized etiquette, and your politeness is insulting." Imagine that..

So let's talk solutions. What if we all took Timothy Leary's advice? Turn in, tune it, and drop out? But we did it without all the fucking LSD lol? Revolution is not drugs, stupid hippies. What if we decided to stop participating in corporate fun? What if we made our own fun? What if we threw pies in each other's faces just for the hell of it? What if we stopped being passive observers in the spectacle? What if we stopped paying for fun and experience? Stopped going to bars for our fun? What if we stopped ignoring the truth, because we want to be young and have fun? What if we decided to stop passing the buck to the next generation? What if we started a whole new world? Where no one suffered at the expense of someone else? What if we stopped worshipping celebrities? What if we shrugged our shoulders at Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohen's last shennanigan? What if we stopped caring about what they say we should care about? What if we started being honest? "How are you today?" ""Well I'm depressed, I feel like my life has no meaning." Then we could begin to help each other. What if we stopped taking their pills? Stopped drowning our fear of death and being "ugly" by getting fucked up every weekend? What if we took that extreme leap of faith and trusted each other? What if we began to question the very premises that make our culture operate? What if we stopped caring about name brand clothes? Stopped frequenting their malls for stuff we don't need. What if we just walked away? Then what? Fuck..I'm willing to find out..

Let's take that magic away from money. Let's swipe our cards less and less. Let's grow our own food. Let's make hitchhiking safe again. Let's stop worrying about things that don't matter. Let's stop listening to authority figures that claim that they know what's best for our lives. Let's tell them to fuck off...with a smile =o)..
