I was listening to 1010WINS this morning...and I overheard a news item regarding the "scandal" ensuing between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and a businessman, Morris Talansky (just found out that he is a rabbi, as well).
The terms of the investigation are that monies were offered to Olmert, who then uses them for lavish items and purchases.
What I don't understand is...WHY WERE THESE MONIES OFFERED IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Were these funds solicited...and if not, why were they offered?
IMHO...these funds were offered to set up Olmert to be entrapped - there doesn't seem to be any other reason for the existence of the funds.
